EDS, Fiserv to offer claims management to the insurance industry

A new alliance between EDS and Fiserv's Freedom Group will offer claims management solutions to the property & casualty segment of the insurance industry.

EDS will consult for and implement the Freedom Group's Claims Workstation product for specialty insurance services, initially in the property and casualty marketplace. EDS will also integrate the Claims Workstation in its business process outsourcing (TPA) service and Decision Support Solutions (DSS) suite of products and services.

By implementing a claims management solution, insurance agencies will improve renewal rates and increase operational efficiency, according to John Crysler, president of EDS' insurance industry unit.
