EC Will Reshape Competitive Landscape, Say CEOs

Electronic commerce will play a major part in reshaping competition in their industries, according to CEOs who responded to a recent Price Waterhouse (New York) survey. Twenty percent of global CEOs surveyed think EC will completely reshape how they do business; 59% think EC will lead to a significant change. The CEOs were picked from a list of the largest 2000 companies in North America, Europe and Asia. Other findings in the report include: 75% report that their companies always or frequently use the Internet to communicate with their own employees; and 56% frequently or always use the Internet to communicate with their customers. EC seems to be more readily accepted by CEOs across the puddle, however; 28% of European and Asian CEOs believe EC will have a dramatic effect on their business, while only 16% of North American CEOs believe that to be true.
