E-employee service company picks Plumtree

EmployeeService selected Plumtree to provide the portal for its integrated, personalized HR, benefits and payroll “EmployeeHelpdesk.” EmployeeService.com will also use Plumtree’s syndication features to embed its EmployeeHelpdesk within its customers’ Web sites, intranets or extranets. “We chose the Plumtree corporate portal as a business-to-business platform because its extensible architecture allows us to bring together all the human resources, payroll and benefits services we offer our customers in one place,” Bill Swartz, EmployeeService’s chief technology officer. The EmployeeHelpdesk includes pay-stubs, benefits plans, company policies and HR self-service while further allowing client employees and employers to: review pay data, access and edit tax information, stay current on retirement plans, review detailed benefits information or query a knowledgebase about benefits and human resources questions. “By integrating everything that we offer in a single personalized portal page, we give our customers an at-a-glance view of how much they’re making and what’s going on with their benefits,” said Swartz. “At the same time, they can view the company events calendar, look up another employee’s e-mail address, check their 401(k), get the answer to a complex HR question and see news headlines,” he added. The EmployeeHelpdesk will be integrated as Plumtree Portal Gadgets, the currency for exchanging content and services from enterprise applications and the Internet across business networks. Similar in appearance to the sports scoreboard or stock portfolio that appears in My Yahoo or My Excite, Plumtree Portal Gadgets are modular Web components that users assemble in a personalized portal page. Plumtree’s new syndication technology periodically exports the gadgets embedded in the Plumtree Corporate Portal as XML or HTML that can be embedded in the Web sites of customers and partners.
