Documentum goes portal

Documentum announces its Portal Content Management (Portal CM) Edition, which is designed to help bring enterprise content under control, ensure that portal content is accurate, fresh, appropriately classified and available only in the right context to the right person.

Documentum reports the new offering allows users to access, change, contribute, collaborate on and publish new content directly from within the portal. It adds that people can capture context associated with the content to later share and leverage best practices otherwise locked in various parts of the organization.

The company says the the new Portal CM Edition offers:

  • a single point of interaction, which allows users to access, retrieve and receive personalized content from either the corporate content repository or the interactive desktop;

  • core content management services, which ensure the accuracy and timeliness of content with robust versioning, format management, relationship management and automation;

  • real-time collaboration and communication, which permits virtual workgroups to collaborate on projects through a unified workspace that manages all aspects of a project (discussion groups, schedules, resources, deliverables, ad issues); and

  • multi-channel delivery and content reuse, which gives users the ability to reuse and distribute aggregated portal content to other channels, including Web sites, CD-ROMs and wireless devices.
