Document management wins at law firm

Thompson & Knight, one of the oldest and largest law firms in Texas, had been using Novell's SoftSolutions document management system. That system had paid its dues, and Thompson & Knight started evaluating other systems on the market. After evaluating other systems, and hearing good things about NetRight Technologies' service and support, "it was obvious that iManage was the right choice for our firm," said John Beebe, executive director for Thompson & Knight."

B>LANSystems (soon to be acquired by Winstar Communications) will install and integrate NetRight's iManage document management system, which the firm plans to roll out to its 520 users by the end of August. "NetRight offered a technically superior product today that others were simply talking about," according to Mel Lively, Thompson & Knight's director of IS. "They also offered a clean, well-tested SoftSolutions conversion kit."

While Thompson & Knight's legal workers will benefit from the new system, in the end the firm's customers will reap the benefits. "We understand the value of document management in our business and fully expect to provide our clients with better service as a result of our investment," said Lively.
