Counting on collaboration

Available through either an ASP model or a licensed server, the newest version of Copernus’ Web-based collaboration software, WebSpace 2.1, offers three main enhancements over its predecessor: threaded discussions, versioning and notification.

Copernus reports the threaded discussion functionality is at the heart of WebSpace 2.1, permitting full team collaboration and allowing users to first discuss key issues and then link and relate those threads to any other item in context.

With what the company calls a “light document management” feature, versioning allows users to more easily coordinate and manage key documents and files, providing an easy way to view and compare earlier versions as team members work together. The "edit-in-place" capability enables users to "check in" and "check out" documents in real-time without having to download them to their individual computers to edit and make changes.

The new notification features give users the ability to alert others directly inside WebSpace or be notified instantly via e-mail of important document or project updates.
