Conquering unstructured data

Described as a single point of access and control for all of an enterprise’s unstructured knowledge resources, Divine’s Athena 5.4 also serves as a collaboration platform around that information.

Available as a stand-alone application or integrated into portals or intranets, Athena can deliver its functionality to any touchpoint with customers, partners or employees, says the company. Its search agents allow users to efficiently browse and retrieve documents from a variety of internal and external sources, and its access control capabilities protect knowledge assets, says Divine. The company adds that the search technology also remembers past searches and uses that intelligence to serve up relevant content in future searches. Further, Athena identifies users who share common interests, creating communities of interest where users can collaborate and share information.

Divine says the key features of divine Athena 5.4 include:

  • enterprisewide access to unstructured content, including documents and databases;

  • automatic profiling enables users to identify subject matter experts;

  • proactive information delivery of relevant documents to users;

  • automatic document categorization and creation of communities of interest;

  • secure knowledge storage and comprehensive document, agent and profile security to control information access;

  • organized knowledge cycling, allowing users to version, organize and search for documents in many different ways;

  • offline access to documents and automatic synchronization;

  • knowledge harvest from desktop applications;

  • integration with MindAlign, Divine’s enterprise level real-time collaboration application.
