Coming this fall--NT storage/backup applications from HighGround

Privately held HighGround Systems (Boxborough, MA,

http://www.highground.com) has received $16 million in venture capital financing and, more importantly, has a development agreement with Microsoft (Redmond, WA, http://www.microsoft.com).

HighGround's Windows NT Changer Media service (NTMS) code is expected to be included in the next version of Windows NT. If the development goes as expected, the company's enterprise storage resource management tools will be added to NT servers and workstations.

In the meantime, HighGround is using its technology to develop its own independent storage management and backup and recovery applications. This fall, the company expects to introduce Storage Resource Manager, a distributed NT storage management application and Media Mirror, an NT backup and recovery application.
