Clarify Names Zingale as CEO

Tony Zingale has been named president and CEO of Clarify (San Jose), replacing founder Dave Stamm, who becomes chairman of the company's board of directors. Current board chairman James Patterson will remain as a director. Zingale previously served as senior VP of Worldwide Marketing at Cadence Design Systems (San Jose), which he propelled from the #7 to the #1 spot in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) market. Zingale also had a hand in several Cadence acquisitions. Under his guidance, "Cadence's initiatives in consulting and product expansion were and continue to be highly successful," said Jennifer Smith, VP of BancAmerica Robertson Stephens. "He'll bring a strong set of marketing, business and management skills to Clarify." Stamm gladly steps aside to let a more seasoned businessperson take the reigns. "The front office segment has now evolved from the early engineering focus to a market orientation, requiring a CEO with an aggressive market-focused game plan," he said.
