Cardiff licenses OCR engine from Siemens Electrocom

Siemens ElectroCom (Arlington, TX, http://www.electrocomimaging.com

) has licensed an OCR version of its AEG Recognition TM integrated ICR/OCR engine to Cardiff Software (San Marcos, CA, http://www.cardiffsw.com). The AEG engine will be included in Cardiff Software's Tri-CR recognition technology.

The custom version of AEG Recognition supports more than 200 machine-print fonts in multiple languages, as well as degraded and dot matrix printed characters. Cardiff's Tri-CR technology draws from the strengths of multiple engines and is included in Cardiff’s TELEform Standard and Elite automated forms processing software.

"By incorporating the AEG Recognition OCR into the TELEform product family via Tri-CR, Cardiff will be taking advantage of the AEG Recognition superior OCR performance," said Paz Kahana, Director of Marketing for Siemens ElectroCom, Imaging Products.
