Caere Unveils Mac Version of OmniPage Pro

A MacIntosh version of its popular OCR application has been unveiled by Caere (Los Gatos, CA). OmniPage Pro Version 8.0 for MacIntosh includes a new recognition engine, improved recognition of non-English languages, improved check recognition and enhanced scanner control and HTML output capabilities. An upgradable version of OmniPage Pro Version 8.0 for MacIntosh costs $129 through select mail-order resellers; a non-upgradable version is available for $499. The product will be available later this month.
