CSC goes BPM

Computer Sciences Corp. and Metastorm have established a strategic alliance underwhich CSC will use Metastorm's Business Process Management (BPM) technology as the basis for solutions that meet the process challenges of its commercial and government customers in North America, the companies report.

CSC, an information technology services firms, says it will use Metastorm's technology to provide customers with process-based solutions within an integrated IT infrastructure to lower costs, increase revenue and profit margins, improve internal efficiency and enhance customer relationships. In the life sciences division--the first CSC group to offer Metastorm-based solutions -- this additional capability will help pharmaceutical clients manage their relationships with prescription drug distributors and retailers. Metastorm and CSC say the resulting efficiency in pricing and distribution will lead to more effective resource allocation, more robust research and development, and faster time-to-market for pharmaceutical products.
