Business knowledge site receives $11 million funding

MeansBusiness, announced completion of a $11 million investment agreement with Knowledge Universe, to fund “ the world’s largest database of business concepts.” At the same time, a Web-based syndication partnership was launched with Bloomberg.

MeansBusiness provides summarized content from business management publications. These “Cliff Notes” are available in a searchable database of business concepts. MeansBusiness expects to generate commissions by linking from these briefs to full versions available for sale by online booksellers.

Knowledge Universe is a group of KM-related companies offering Internet commerce and content, solutions, as well technology consulting. The group’s chairman is the infamous Michael Milken.

“MeansBusiness shares the Knowledge Universe mission of making professionals more productive,” said Milken. “It is reinventing how knowledge is delivered by taking what is locked in print, personalizing it, and delivering it--just in time--to the desktop.
