Hyperion and Crystal Decisions have announced an OEM and reseller agreement to embed Crystal Decisions’ Web-based query, reporting and information delivery software for relational and multidimensional data into Hyperion’s analytic platform.

The companies believe the expanded business and technical relationship will result in seamless access to a broad range of data sources, such as relational data from enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management systems as well as multidimensional data for Hyperion customers.

They add that joint development will begin immediately to optimize the capabilities and performance of the combined solution and to develop unique functionality and seamless integration with Hyperion’s analytic platform. This addition of Web-based query, reporting and information delivery functionality to Hyperion’s OLAP technology is an step in the evolution of Hyperion’s analytic platform to a more comprehensive enterprisewide business intelligence solution.
