Brio sharpens business intelligence tools

Designed to increase speed and flexibility for users, Brio Technology introduces its new Brio ONE BI software, Brio.Enterprise 6.2. The company reports Version 6.2 offers support for more operating systems and provides increased speed, security and stronger end-user capabilities.

Brio says the most significant enhancement to Enterprise 6.2 is the data-modeling features added to Brio.Insight. The increased functionality in Insight allows customers leveraging the Web to create and modify individual queries, reports, pivots and charts, which exceed the constraints of pre-defined data sets. Users are said to benefit by faster access to the right information while eliminating the administration burden of creating a new data model each time a new report or query is required.

Certification of Sun Solaris 8 allows 6.2 to run on the latest release of Sun's Unix operating system. Additionally, Brio.Enterprise now supports Netscape iPlanet Web Server 4.x, including Microsoft Windows NT/2000, extending Brio's business intelligence to meet customer needs.
