Bridges, not barriers

Systems integrator Endymion Systems has released OpenBridge 2.0, what it calls a taxonomy-independent knowledge management software solution for search and navigation applications.

Version 2.0 imports and classifies over 200 standard office documents automatically, without metatagging or taxonomy generation, says the company. It claims that 2.0 provides an intuitive means for navigating and locating information in large text and structured databases and is well-suited for desktop use by individuals.

Endymion says the automatic builder feature converts and indexes document collections incrementally, as well as builds and deploys databases automatically. The builder user interface allows a non-technical user to maintain document collections while providing a log of “builds” and search query statistics. Further, says the company, Version 2.0 enables PDF conversion, XML indexing and provides connector architecture to allow access to enterprise document repositories. Its database compression allows 2 million to 4 million pages per server. Finally, says the company, OpenBridge 2.0 provides a SOAP interface to query for Web service support.
