Blue Water Systems dives in with Imagination Software

Blue Water Systems (Holland, MI) is shifting its image conversion and retrieval product from 16 to 32-bit software, thanks to Imagination Software (Silver Spring, MD). The two companies signed a three-year licensing agreement to put Imagination's ActiveX component technology in with Blue Water's VersalImage product, which scans paper and converts microfilm and microfiche into digital images. "We were using Imagination Software's biggest competitor's imaging technology, but they simply couldn't support our strategic move to 32-bit systems," said Blue Water president Alex Brunner. The conversion and development process, now in its final stages, will be complemented by Imagination's consulting and support services. Adding Imaginations' standard-compliant ActiveX components "allowed us to continue to provide our customers with the robust scan and retrieval technology that they expect."
