Bell & Howell's Copiscan II handles medical needs
The newest offering from Bell & Howell's (Skokie, IL,
http://wwww.bellhowell.com/scanners) scanner division continues a pattern of vertical-market-specific document capture solutions. The
Copiscan II Patient Record Scanner specifically addresses the paper-handling needs of medical offices.
Equipped with an AutoScan sensor that can scan a variety of paper sizes, the new scanner can handle mixed batches in a single scanning session.
While marketed specifically for medical record handling, the scanner incorporates the same features as the existing Copiscan line. Bell & Howell's adaptive contrast enhancement (ACE) can actually improve the readability of an image over the original, according to the developer. The 42-page-per-minute Patient Record Scanner is available in three models starting at $14,340.
