Bell & Howell offers a scanner a month

Scanner vendor Bell & Howell (Skokie, IL,

http://www.bellhowell.com) is capitalizing on tweaking its scanner technology for specific vertical markets. At AIIM, the company demonstrated its Copiscan II scanners designed for trucking, loan processing, remittance and patient records, each with specialized paper handling features.

According to Bob Honn, product marketing manager with the Arlington Heights, IL-based scanner division, Bell & Howell will bring out one such specialized scanner per month for the rest of the year. Honn also noted that the company's Copiscan 4040D incorporates a new design compared to the company's older models. The drum has been relocated to the back of the unit, and the feeder has been redesigned with a new roller. By the third quarter of this year, the company will release a Copiscan 4040D designed for the network.
