Banctec offers new image encoder

Banctec (Dallas) has unveiled the newest product in its E-series line of image encoders, which it claims is "the fastest in the industry." The 1150 DMP encoder offers a single-path, dual-encoding design that can handle 1,150 documents per minute. A universal transport engine added to the E-series' document feeder technology is responsible for increase in speed. To cut down on noise, Banctec has added compression seals and foamaround covers, and removed the vacuum transport. "We have redefined the upper limit of encoder technology," said Jim Uren, BancTec's senior VP and GM for Banctec's North American operations. The E-series 1150 DPM encoder will be available by Q4 '98; pricing has yet to be determined.
