BDS Provides Data Warehouse Solutions to Perkin-Elmer
Business Data Services (BDS, Glastonbury, CT) has been chosen to implement a data warehouse solution for Perkin-Elmer, a Connecticut-based manufacturer and supplier of life science systems and analytical instruments. BDS will design a data warehouse for Perkin-Elmer's international sales and ordering system that uses the company's existing SAP (Lester, PA) platform and Oracle (Redwood Shores, CA) database. Perkin-Elmer's products are used worldwide in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental testing, food, agriculture and chemical manufacturing markets. The implementation will provide valuable experience for BDS in providing strategic information solutions in the international marketplace, according to company chairman and co-founder Jack Hughes.
