Apple Names VP of Worldwide Operations

Apple Computer (Cupertino, CA) has named Timothy Cook as its senior VP of Worldwide Operations. Cook will be responsible for Apple's global operations, including worldwide procurement, supply chain management, manufacturing and distribution. He formerly served as a VP at Compaq (Houston), where he was in charge of procuring and managing all of Compaq's product inventory. Cook replaces former VP of Pacific operations Joe O'Sullivan, who had been acting as head of operations.
