Anacomp Announces Services for Magnetic Storage

Bowing to the need for a more complete storage offering, Anacomp (San Diego) has announced a new range of services for magnetic data storage media. The services copying, format conversion, initialization, labeling, testing, cleaning, reconditioning, destruction, and disaster recovery are part of Anacomp's new three-pronged Media Management program for magnetic data storage. The new offering is in response to the recent push for standardization through the storage industry. "Independent technical organizations such as ANSI, ICL, and ISO, as well as virtually every major drive manufacturer, all recommend some form of media management program," said Gary M. Roth, senior VP and GM of Anacomp's magnetic media business. The new service program, he said, will help data center managers save time and money, reduce risk, manage data migration, and monitor off-line data storage throughout its life cycle.
