Altris CEO resigns

In the wake of unsettling news regarding certain reported revenue dating back through 1997, Altris (San Diego) CEO Jay Tanna has resigned as chairman, CEO and director of the company. Roger Erickson, Altris VP of Strategic Partners, has been appointed as an interim CEO; he held the position from 1991 to 1993. Altris has also enlisted the help of Robert Bruce, a former chairman of the board, as a consultant in the implementation of its business plan. No replacement for the chairmanship of Altris' board of directors has been named. Tanna becomes the latest executive to jump ship; two of Altris' top marketing executives left the company late last year. In the IDM and workflow market, where Altris has been battling for a leadership position, "the company can ill afford a black mark, whatever the source," according to the Delphi Group (Boston). "Altris' new management will have to put the financial issues on a sound footing and craft a serious get well program among its customers and suppliers if it expects to compete again."
