Allaire and Adobe team up for Web applications

Under the terms of the new development partnership, Allaire will integrate Adobe Systems’ Web development tools within its Internet Business Platform, which is an integrated suite of products that provide a software infrastructure for building online businesses. The companies have already completed the first co-development project and integrated Adobe's GoLive 5.0 Web authoring software with Allaire ColdFusion, enabling developers to use GoLive 5.0 to create applications that run on the ColdFusion Web application server.

Through the partnership, Allaire and Adobe have developed a ColdFusion Extension to GoLive 5.0. By attaching the Extension, Adobe enables Web developers who are unfamiliar with the ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML), used by over than 140,000 developers worldwide, can create CFML applications in the GoLive visual development environment. They can create Web sites and ColdFusion applications with GoLive and its new "360Code" feature, which ensures that the CFML will maintain code integrity and will not be reformatted.

The ColdFusion Extension for GoLive is the first offering from the Allaire and Adobe initiative. The two companies have agreed to combine efforts to integrate Adobe's tools, such as GoLive, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat, with the Allaire Internet Business Platform, which includes ColdFusion, JRun, Allaire Spectra and HomeSite. In addition, Adobe has joined the Allaire Alliance as a technology partner and Allaire has joined the Adobe Solutions Network as a technology partner.
