All for Web and Web for all

With the new version of its WebSpace software, Copernus reports it has enhanced the digital workplace through collaborative tools that allow knowledge sharing on a one-to-one, one-to-several or many-to-many basis.

WebSpace 2.0 gives users the ability to see, access and work in multiple Web workplaces from one centralized location. Copernus adds that operating from a single password log-on, users can view, link or copy critical information from one Web workplace to another --enabling the repurposing of information for multiple teams. Further, users can alert one another regarding key information changes or additions to the team workspace, Copernus says. Also new to Version 2.0 is the ability for users with proper authority to manage and administer WebSpace and item rights.

The WebSpace collaboration strategy consists of three key elements:

  • “link and relate,” which enables users to link disparate pieces of information together within a WebSpace (e-mail, Web links, documents, application files, etc.) and immediately create relationships between these items;

  • “change once/update all,” which allows the information "owner" and the person with whom the information is being shared to dynamically add, update and edit the information, changes to which are dynamically replicated to all other instances where the information is used; and

  • “business practice templates,” which enable users to model the application around their business-critical work processes.

    WebSpace 2.0 is available as an ASP or through a licensed server model.
