Alfresco takes ECM to the AWS cloud

Alfresco has enhanced its enterprise content management (ECM) platform and made it available for Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Alfresco reports its ECM platform has three AWS-deployment options:

  • Full SaaS—an online collaboration service for enterprise documents hosted on AWS with mobile access and file sharing;
  • Alfresco Enterprise hosted on AWS—full Alfresco ECM platform is now available as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) in the Amazon Marketplace and can be used as a private instance hosted on AWS for greater control over configuration and customization, as well as integration with existing networks or enterprise systems (Alfresco says many customers configure Enterprise hosted on AWS as a secure file-sharing solution in the cloud, fully managed by their own IT department); and
  • Alfresco One Hybrid ECM—a full, private instance of Alfresco Enterprise hosted on AWS for business-critical document management behind the firewall and then sync files or folders to Alfresco in the cloud.
