Air Force base reducing overhead with records conversion

Kelly Air Force Base has issued an Equipment Management Directorate to convert into electronic format its equipment technical manuals. The manuals (aka technical orders, or "TO"s) are used to support critical aircraft overhaul and repair as well as equipment modernization. The conversion is part of a massive Air Force initiative to convert technical support documentation into digital files to help reduce operating costs.

Docucon will process the files at its San Antonio facilities, doubling a current Air Force work schedule. The deal is worth approximately $472,500
