Aeneid Names Meta Group Chairman to Board

Marc Butlein, chairman of Meta Group's (Stamford, CT) board of directors, has joined the board of directors at Aeneid (San Francisco). Aeneid is a start-up that utilizes Internet software, on-line services and processes to automate the tasks of collecting and managing market and competitive intelligence. Its Internet Research Assistant (IRA), which provides a framework for collecting, analyzing, and formatting conclusions to external information, was unveiled two weeks ago. Butlein adds experience in the enterprise computing and research and analysis markets to Aeneid's executive team. Aeneid's product makes use of "the overwhelming availability of market and competitive information" of the Internet, said Butlein, whose experience and vision "are extremely complementary to our business focus and management team expertise," said Aeneid president and CEO Daniel Putterman.
