Advancing text mining and analytics

Linguamatics has unveiled what it says is a significantly enhanced version of its text mining software platform, I2E. The company reports that notable changes in I2E 4.0 focus on Web services, virtual data integration and chemical terminology.

The new Linguamatics I2E API will bring natural language processing (NLP) based text mining to a broader range of users within the organization by allowing easier and more focused interfaces for different audiences. Organizations will therefore find it much easier to embed text mining into core systems and workflows, deployed via intuitive, accessible, customized interfaces, says Linguamatics.

Additionally, I2E can now analyze and extract information and knowledge from multiple, disparate data sources. Users are able to increase the speed of their knowledge extraction, by avoiding the need to carry out a series of separate searches over multiple data sources. The new version further facilitates creating queries that connect the different data sources, allowing information from different silos to be brought together.

Linguamatics I2E can now deal with recognition of novel compounds, which will give informaticians, researchers and patent analysts the power to investigate uncharted areas of innovation, claims Linguamatics.
