Adobe shuffles executive positions

Two chairmen head Adobe (San Jose,

http://www.adobe.com) due to a realignment of the executive board. The board of directors has created the Office of the Chairman of the Board and eliminated the position of chief operating officer.

The Office of the Chairman is being shared by John Warnock and Charles Geschke, who share the title of board chairman. Warnock continues to lead Adobe's product, strategy and technology direction, and will direct business expansion activities. He retains the position of CEO. Dr. Geschke, who continues as president, assumes expanded roles in running Adobe's day-to-day marketing, selling and operations.

A further management change involves David Pratt, executive VP and COO, who has resigned effective Nov. 30, 1997. During his nine years with Adobe, Pratt presided over the growth of the company's applications software revenue from under $10 million annually to $590 million in the fiscal year ended November 1996.
