Adaptive announces Internet/intranet document management suite

Adaptive Information Systems (Mission Viejo, CA, http://ais-hitachi.com

) announces its upgraded version of AdaptFile/VisiFLOW. The AdaptFile/VisiFLOW Version 3.0, designed for the enterprise, is an integrated suite of document imaging, document management, workflow management, COLD and workflow modeling applications products under a common user interface. The suite also provides rapid development and deployment of workflow applications across the Internet or corporate intranets from workstations or local servers, enabling them to be accessible to anyone with a Web browser.

For application development, AdaptFile/VisiFLOW lets a department build, test and simulate applications before moving them in their entirety to a larger environment. The suite supports any third-party relationship database that is SQL compliant, including Oracle, Sybase, Informix and Microsoft SQLServer. For those who want to retain previous software programs, it will support third party APIs. The interactive development environment lets users make simultaneous changes to the process model, DBMS and routing options, eliminating the need to completely define the application prior to implementation.

In addition, the Workflow Simulator option provides for a wide variety of checks and verifications, including a simulated scanning process that can be used to model an application without a physical scanner attached to the platform, and a PC application that can be developed on one DBMS and deployed on a separate one.

Version 3.0 includes OCR and barcode recognition and provides automatic creation of the initial database management system tables and dictionary, a quality control rerouting queue and a multithreaded definition environment for changes to be made to the DBMS while designing a process map. The product runs in a client-server environment with a Windows client and DOS, Novell, Windows NT or UNIX server. Price is $2,800 per user in 25-seat configurations.
