Adaptive Solutions Predicts Q4 Profit

Adaptive Solutions (Beaverton, OR) has announced that it expects to realize a Q4 '97 operating profit, due mainly to $1.5 million in final payments stemming from a technology agreement with Motorola

(Schaumburg, IL). The profit will not offset one-time charges associated with the purchase of Eastman Kodak's (Rochester, NY) OCR business in October, which will be reflected in Q4 '98 results to be released on February 5. The results follow a pattern of financial recovery for Adaptive Solutions, which has cut its losses for two consecutive quarters as it moves "to a higher-return position as a leading computer assisted data entry company," said president and CEO Dan Meub.
