Adaptec Introduces New RAID Controllers

Adaptec (Milpitas, CA) has unveiled a new line of RAID controllers for the MacIntosh platform. The AEC-4412BS and AEC-7412B connect SCSI host systems or fibre channel host interface to external storage systems. Both controllers support RAID levels 0,1,0/1, 3 and 5. The controllers are designed for Mac publishing, prepress, digital video and multimedia applications. "Macintosh users have unique and demanding storage needs for intensive multimedia computing," said Jean-Eric Garnier, business and marketing manager for Adaptec's Macintosh products. The AEC-4412BS and AEC-7412B are now available for $3000 MSRP.
