AMS and Sybase to Provide PowerBuilder Methodology

American Management Systems (AMS, Fairfax, VA) and Sybase (Emeryville, CA) will provide a new methodology to help migrate PowerBuilder applications to the Web. The Business-Value Approach to PowerBuilder Web Migration will help companies who have deployed PowerBuilder in their efforts to become Web-enabled. "Many of our clients have asked us how to migrate their two-tier PowerBuilder applications to the Web," said Dave Lavanty, Sybase's VP of North American professional services. The joint offering came as a result of several successful joint projects between AMS and Sybase, he added. The consulting solution includes an analysis period where analysts from AMS and Sybase review a company's business objectives, existing code and target Web architecture. Once a company's priorities have been identified, a timeline and architecture are recommended to help streamline and reduce the risks associated with the design, development and implementation processes. The joint offering provides "in-depth technical knowledge, systems integration expertise, proven development methodologies and solid project management skills," according to AMS VP Keith Gnagey.
