AMS and FileNet Team for Healthcare Solution
American Management Systems (AMS, Fairfax, VA) and FileNet (Costa Mesa, CA) have teamed up to offer a document management system for Carilion Health System (Roanoke, VA). Carilion is a healthcare delivery network with operations in western Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. The system, consisting of AMS' Accountlink patient accounting document management and workflow application and FileNet's IDM software, will support centralized billing operations for 65 physician practices in 80 locations. The system will benefit Carilion in many areas, according to Greg Walton, Carilion VP of Information Systems, including customer service, productivity and communications. "We will realize significant productivity gains from a smoother work flow that eliminates repeated handling of paper-based billing documents," he said, adding that the system will be "making our payers happier and getting Carilion paid faster."
