AIIM head a KMExpo/97 headliner
Mancini to lead forum "Beyond the Document"
John Mancini, president of
AIIM International (Silver Spring, MD,
http://www.aiim.org), is scheduled to give
Knowledge Management Expo's final keynote on Friday, October 17 at 9:00 a.m. Mancini's address, "Beyond the Document," exemplifies the industry's shifting definition of itself.
The document, historically defined as a formatted container for information distribution, has been the key commodity of the information industry for five years. The document has been described as the linchpin of the business process, and the Internet itself has been called the ultimate document repository. Mancini will challenge whether the document is still a relevant concept in today s world.
Mancini has promised to explore the changing world of business information management and suggest some new perspectives that shape our understanding of the technologies that touch our professional lives.
Capping a line-up of speakers that includes David Skok, the founder of Watermark Software (http://www.watermark.com) (now absorbed by FileNet, San Jose, http://www.filenet.com), and "Information Technology Visionary" George Gilder, Mancini's presentation is scheduled for the final day of KMExpo.
