AIIM NEWS: PC DOCS/Fulcrum debuts portal, fault-tolerant document management

NEWS FROM AIIM '99: Delivering on a long-awaited promise, PC DOCS/Fulcrum (booth 1327) has released an integrated product of document management and Fulcrum search capabilities.

DOCSFulcrum Version 3.0 includes the recently-announced Enterprise Table of Contents, which automatically categorizes information from Email, Web sites and other documents. DOCSFulcrum 3.0 includes local and distributed search capabilities in case the information is in far-flung corporate repositories, and groups documents from search results by content.

PC DOCS also released upgrades to its 3-tier and client-server document management software. DOCSFusion and PowerDOCS 3.0 offer fail-over support and load balancing for reliability and scalability, an enhanced user interface and integration with Microsoft products including Outlook and Explorer. DOCS Open 3.8, the client/server version, now includes full text indexing and multi-valued fields.

With these upgrades, PC DOCS/Fulcrum CTO Gwyn Fisher, says users can concentrate on doing their work without worrying about what's behind the curtain.

All of the upgrades will be officially released on May 21.
