A meeting going on

Citrix Online, a division of Citrix Systems, has introduced what it claims is a solution for affordable, everyday, small-group online meetings with optimal security, speed and simplicity. Citrix GoToMeeting is now available for purchase here. Free 15-day trials are also available.

Flat-fee pricing enables GoToMeeting users to hold unlimited online meetings, of unlimited duration, without incurring the overage charges or per-minute expenses that, Citrix says, are common to other products. GoToMeeting is simple to use and allows meeting presenters to focus on the meeting content, not on the technology, according to Citrix.

Screen-sharing technology allows presenters to share PowerPoint slides, financial spreadsheets or any other PC application with all participants in real time. GoToMeeting further offers bundled integration with communication applications such as e-mail and instant messaging and provides true 24-bit color representation of the presenters PC. The software includes 128-bit, end-to-end AES encryption for complete online meeting confidentiality, says Citrix, and a free audio bridge is also built-in.

Citrix GoToMeeting is for individuals and small businesses that require a single-user account and up to 10 attendees per meeting. A corporate version is also available here for free evaluation.
