In addition, city employees can use the new information retrieval technology to search more than 70,000 documents on the city's intranet.

Muskego chose ISYS:web from ISYS Search Software after evaluating a number of products.

Joseph Sommers, Muskego's IS director, explains, "The city is dedicated to ensuring our citizens and employees have quick and convenient access to a wealth of information, whether it's a citizen interested in city ordinances or a staff member researching procedural documentation."

"The solution helps us satisfy our internal needs for cost-effective technology that delivers a valuable service to the city and its citizens."

With the new system, users can search, sort and navigate results from standard HTML, PDF files, Office documents, e-mails, databases and more. According to ISYS, users can sort results by date, relevance or hit count, as well as leverage such features as Hit Highlighting and Hit-to-Hit Navigation to find the information that is most relevant to them.
