Online retailer reaps results

An online gift retailer says it has boosted business through deployment of e-commerce search and merchandising software. Delightful Deliveries reports that since it implemented the Mercado solution, it has experienced the following increases: 45 percent in conversions, 20 percent in revenue per visit, 50 percent in orders per visit and 100 percent in units bought per visit as compared to the same time period last year.

Eric Lituchy, Delightful Deliveries president and CEO, says, "The improvements we've experienced are the direct result of implementing the software and of making it easier for customers to buy the perfect gift. Our new site merchandising enhancements have allowed us to more effectively serve the customer who enters our site seeking a gift basket, gourmet meal or bouquet, and are clearly contributing to our growth."

The online retailer uses Mercado's merchandising console to create custom landing pages to get the most out of its paid search and e-mail marketing programs. By using the landing pages, Delightful Deliveries is said to have increased revenue and units per order and realized better ROI, according to Mercado.
