Litigation search support

The Scottish law firm Simpson & Marwick is using a search solution in its litigation support system to enable better access to information.

The firm scans documents to a network drive, and then converts them to searchable PDFs. The PDFs, in turn, are indexed by the solution from ISYS Search Software, enabling users to search the files directly via the ISYS:desktop application or through CaseSoft's CaseMap case analysis tool, in which ISYS is also embedded.

The solution provides Simpson & Marwick with such navigational tools for PDF files as categorization, entity detection, hit-highlighting, hit-to-hit navigation and the ability to view just the relevant portions of large documents, according to ISYS.

ISYS also reports that Simpson & Marwick benefits from other features of the solution, which include an intuitive interface, software development kit, security controls and cost.
