Faster flower delivery

A French florist is using technology from A2iA to automate its flower orders for quicker, more cost-effective delivery. Interflora  has chosen the A2iA's FieldReader solution to centralize the processing of more than a million forms annually. The orders are issued at various locations throughout Interflora's network and processed at two sites, Lyon and Paris.

In a recent press release, A2iA said its software was selected because it can recognize all types of fields (constrained, unconstrained, alphabetic, digital, etc.) and writing styles (machine printed, handwriting or block manuscript). It also can handle large volumes of documents, such as on Mother's Day, which can generate 10 percent of Interflora's annual orders.

The A2iA FieldReader engine is initially processing 70,000 faxes sent to the Lyon facility, then will gradually increase production through 2009. Next year, the number will climb to 200,000 faxes at Lyon, while integration at the Paris center is completed. The software will then process nearly 1.2 million orders per year, according to numbers provided by A2iA.
