A hub for travel & tourism information

TourismROI, a source of information for travel and tourism management and investment opportunities, has chosen a Web content management solution to build a scalable site for information exchange.

The company has selected Ektron CMS400.NET to manage the site. TourismROI had sought a system that could feed massive amounts of data--including documents, images, PDFs, videos, hyperlinks and more--into a scalable, user-friendly format.

"By leveraging this solution, we have been able to easily integrate essential features such as wikis, blogs, message forums and work areas into the TourismROI Web site, all of which are extremely important to the global business model of the site," says Rick Gadd, senior developer, MMG Worldwide, which was responsible for development of the site. "Ektron also made it possible to create an advanced taxonomy structure and implement highly developed search capabilities that will be invaluable to the site's users."

TourismROI will manage more than 12,000 landing pages with the solution, according to a press release from Ektron, and more than 1 million community folders that will each include its own collaboration features. Social networking will allow TourismROI members and users to collaborate in one central location for all of their travel and tourism business investment needs.

CEO Richard Miller explains that the objective of TourismROI is to build a tool that helps governments capitalize on the potential in the travel and tourism industry, as well as create a central hub for B2B organizations to better understand the industry.
