Interwoven has launched its Composite Application Provisioning (CAP) Solution. The offering automates and streamlines the way composite applications (also known as custom applications, portals, Web applications, Web services or complex applications) are modified and deployed. The company says this improvement to application provisioning is particularly valuable for enterprises that deploy service-oriented architectures (SOAs).

Interwoven claims that composite applications typically comprise the majority of revenue-generating and customer-facing applications, yet believes changes to this software can be time-consuming, costly and prone to errors. Interwoven says its CAP Solution ensures that these applications can be modified and deployed quickly, consistently and without errors. Interwoven further states that customers using its CAP Solution have reduced provisioning costs by an average of 40 percent, eliminated errors and delivered applications to market up to 10 times faster than before.
