Welocalize has released GlobalSight 7.1, the new open-source version of the enterprise-class Translation Management System (TMS). The company says GlobalSight helps automate the tasks associated with the creation, translation, review, storage and management of business content and materials, from Web sites and software, to user manuals and marketing materials. With zero license fees, the open-source GlobalSight TMS provides a low-risk, flexible and sustainable globalization solution, says Welocalize.

GlobalSight provides a centralized and SRX-compliant Translation Memory (TM) for optimized content reuse and a configurable workflow engine. Welocalize says GlobalSight integrates the entire global content value chain through adaptors for content repositories and Web services API for external business systems, while permitting partnerships with multiple language vendors. GlobalSight also provides a scalable, in-house platform for language service providers to manage the multitude of translation projects processed every day, says Welocalize.
