Information Builders (IB) has announced enhancements to WebFocus that are said to improve all aspects of the product's integration with SAP. Among the SAP-specific features delivered with the new release of WebFocus are: optimized intelligent adapters to improve performance, such as dynamically generating efficient ABAP or MDX requests to the SAP application server; improved metadata management enables users to drill down to specific object types within SAP as they are represented in SAP; an intelligent GUI development tool that recognizes and displays SAP NetWeaver metadata and enforces the associated SAP OLAP reporting rules; hierarchy reporting to make reporting against SAP hierarchies easier to filter, display and navigate; and security administration that enables WebFocus to fully support SSO via SAP Logon Tickets, the preferred method for implementing SSO from the NetWeaver portal.
