View From The Top: Day Software

Day Software was founded in Switzerland in 1993 by a group of dynamic, enterprising and innovative individuals who foresaw the dramatic changes the Internet would have on organizations, and the way they do business. Their goal was to create technologies that would make it easy and affordable for enterprises to successfully integrate the Web into their daily business
operations.

Day has rethought traditional ECM products and delivered a new-style platform for Web 2.0. Instead of building by acquisition, Day has architected from the ground-up its revolutionary Communiqué (CQ) suite of content applications targeted for business users for Web Content Management (WCM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), and Social Collaboration.

Together or standalone CQ WCM, CQ DAM, and CQ Social Collaboration form a simple—yet powerful—platform for interactive marketing, communication and social networking. Unlike its ECM peers, Day's ground-breaking Communiqué suite is built atop a single shared content repository, based on open standards and open source technology, Day’s industry-leading Java Content Repository (JCR), CRX.

Since 2001, Day has cemented its role as industry thought leader, initiating and leading JSR 170—Content Repository for Java Technology API (JCR), an industry-wide initiative to overcome the challenge of proprietary content repositories, helping companies dramatically reduce costs, while increasing the efficiency and accessibility of their existing content infrastructure.

The company has been traded on the SWX Swiss Exchange (SWX: DAYN) since April 2000 and has over 200 implementations for leading organizations such as Audi, Daimler, DHL, McDonald’s Corporation, National Health Service UK, and Volkswagen.
